Two billion people around the world are locked in their homes in self-isolation mode. Every 6th resident of America is left without a job. It’s too early to talk about our country; these numbers are not public. Only one thing is clear - that the situation on the labor market is terrible, and that after the end of quarantine, millions of people will remain unemployed in our country. How the labor market will change after the pandemic You should not count on the fact that after the lifting of self-isolation, the situation will immediately improve. Not all companies will “survive” until the joyful moment of restoration of effective demand. We will inevitably face mass layoffs due to the bankruptcy of many small and medium-sized companies. The labor market will not only become crowded - it will be crowded! WHAT PROFESSIONS WILL BE THE MOST IN DEMAND after quarantine: 1) Delivery service employees Couriers, drivers, order pickers, call operators -centers - all of them will be “on horseback” during and after the coronavirus pandemic. 2) Those who know how to technically set up and administer remote work. If previously few people were allowed to work from home, now they are forced to do so. Almost everyone was unprepared for this: both managers and ordinary employees. Therefore, there will be a rushed demand for specialists who can: set up the technical component of the remote work infrastructure; organize the effective work of staff sitting in a relaxing, cozy home environment. 3) “Chaser” of robots There is a tendency to replace human labor with artificial intelligence (programs, algorithms, robots). 4) Online entertainment Restrictions on holding public events will remain in effect for a long time. But the need for leisure and entertainment will remain - this is all the more important in the stressful environment of forced self-imprisonment. 5) Marketers of a very high class The population will have very little money, so the competition for clients will be off the charts. ADVICE FOR JOB SEEKERS: 1) Dump if you want to get a job. There will be an obvious “overstocking” on the labor market. And the remaining “afloat” employers will strive to hire highly qualified personnel for extremely low pay (and they will agree out of desperation). 2) Don’t quarrel with your boss for no reason or reason. Now is not the time to show your teeth and your ambitions. Remember that dozens of local applicants and hundreds of visitors are vying for your place. 3) Be prepared to change your field of activity People with “heads” will always be in demand. Therefore, you should not stubbornly hold on to the old. Feel free to look for a new use for your talents and experience. 4) Accumulate a “financial cushion” and do not waste it on trifles Times are difficult now, and they will be even more difficult. The “second wave” of the pandemic will definitely return - it’s only a matter of time. ADDITIONALLY: Read my other article “ Where should you NOT invest your money?
