Who works well? - Someone who knows why he needs to work. For some, the main thing is money, for some, inspiration and creativity are important. A competent manager needs to understand the motivation of his employees in order to maintain their interest in work and influence the efficiency of using human resources. What motivational types of workers can be distinguished? "Hard case". This type of “worker” can be called a stretch. He likes to be lazy and drink. When the sphere of emotional interests is narrowed to the size of a “bottle,” then work is a necessary application to achieve the joy of alcoholic intoxication and idleness. You don’t have to work at all, but then you’ll have to steal or engage in other criminal activities, so the fear of going to prison forces such people to work at least somehow. Such employees are almost not affected by material motivation. Bonuses are not a reason to improve your work, but to drink. Deprivation of bonuses and fines do not mean that he will not find somewhere to drink. Non-material motivation also does not work. Emotional impact may arouse “interest” in work for a while, but is not effective in the long term. The conclusion is that it is better not to hire such employees, and to get rid of existing ones. As a rule, life suggests the only opportunity for work for such people is periodic low-skilled work, regardless of education and professional skills: for example, digging a trench, unloading a railroad car, mixing cement, etc. Focus on money. Such people often do not care , what to do. They are consciously looking for income. If there is an opportunity to get a lot by working better and harder, then this is their place. Such workers are well motivated by piecework wages, receiving a percentage of profits, and it is easy for them to endure emotional discomfort in a team if they are satisfied with their earnings. Career orientation. Money is not the main thing; such an employee wants to move up the career ladder. The salary at the moment may not be large, but the main thing is the attitude of the management towards it and the prospects for career growth. Such people are motivated by emotional expressions of approval and praise from management. Growth prospects and the possibility of obtaining a new position, even with the same or a slight increase in salary, are also important. Focus on stability. For such an employee, it is important to have a stable job and salary, and to maintain their usual lifestyle. Hobbies, home, his marital status, and communication with friends are important to him. Work is the place where he receives the basis of his stability - money. Motivation is more at the level of emotions and sensations. It is important for such an employee to feel stability, which can consist of regular receipt of a salary, a guaranteed increase after some time, social benefits, vacation, weekends, lack of overtime, delays beyond working hours in the office. Result-oriented. Such an employee is motivated by the process of achievement and the result itself. Strong emotional motivation is important to him. For example, recognition of his contribution to the common cause, emphasizing the scale of achievements, encouraging self-realization, praise “you did it!” Orientation towards “mental relationships”. For such an employee, the atmosphere in the team is important; it is important for him that he wants to go to work. He does only what interests him, and if he loses interest, he changes jobs. Emotional motivation is very important: an expression of good nature, openness, and sincerity. Of course, you need to understand that all methods of motivation may be suitable for people to one degree or another, at different periods of life. But there is always a determining orientation in motivation at the moment, this must be taken into account. It is also useful for a manager to be flexible in the means of encouragement, to notice in time the most effective ways to motivate specific employees, then work will be a joy, and everyone will benefit.
