Katya was an extraordinary girl: she had a different clothing style, loved certain music, and outwardly she was always very calm and reserved. Sergei is the soul of any company and in character was more like the Troubodour from the film "The Bremen Town Musicians". They had been together since childhood: they grew up together, matured, and made plans. Everything was fine until Sergei received a text message from Katya: “Sorry, we’d better break up!” It was like a thunderclap in the middle of a clear sky! Sergei was confused and hurried to call Katya to find out the reason, but she did not answer him that evening, nor the next, or even a week later! He continued to call her, sent gifts and cards, apologized and asked to meet, but it was all to no avail. This is how Sergei ended up in my office. He was crushed and broken, but her name and image literally leaked out no matter which direction I took the conversation! All he cared about was what else he could do to earn her forgiveness! I asked: “Sergey, what exactly are you guilty of?” He thought for a minute, his gaze froze: “I couldn’t make her happy...” Sergei lowered his head, giving support with his hands. I had the feeling that at that moment, pictures and images from life, associated with pain and disappointment, floated before his eyes. I carefully sat down next to him, afraid to disrupt this important process, put my hand on my back and asked: “Sergey, who do you remember just now?” Sergei did not grow up in a complete family. Sergei's dad left when he was 6 years old. The mother was left alone with the baby, who looked exactly like his father. She got angry, cried, lost her temper, demonstrating every time how hard it was for her. Sergei lived in a constant feeling of guilt and at some point made an important decision for himself that he must certainly take full care of his mother! It is a pity that there was no adult next to him then who could say that this is not the responsibility of a little boy, that he is not to blame for anything, that he should not deserve the right to love, because it is unconditional! I became such an adult for him. He allowed me to touch his pain and see the boy who still lives inside him and tries to do the impossible! Now Sergei has a wife and a daughter who look like him like 2 peas in a pod 😊Probably we still do not fully understand and underestimate the influence of our immediate environment in childhood on adulthood. Undoubtedly, our life and destiny are determined not by the constellation under which we were born, not by the name we were given, but by our mother! We are born like a blank slate and experience the world through her touches, words, glances. Someone will see pain, disappointment and resentment through her eyes, and someone will see love, trust and kindness. PS All characters in this story are created by the author's imagination. Any similarities between names and events are random!
