Open-ended questions that move a person towards results and a new vision are very helpful not only within a coaching session, but also in everyday life. Let's take an example: communication with an adult child. Very often, this communication with a teenager comes down to trivial questions for parents: how was the day, what did you eat, what’s new at school (institute)... It seems like we talked. But there is no soulfulness. Because to trivial questions there are trivial answers: everything is fine, nothing new. If you start asking even a “closed” teenager promotional questions, the result is completely different. - What is the most fascinating subject you are studying in this session? - What new has this course revealed to you? - What are the most interesting facts this teacher introduced you to? - How can your actions change when you now know this about the relationships of people of different beliefs? - What new abilities have you discovered in yourself in this situation? - And who do you feel like after this? And then you find out that a new teacher has arrived, that your child is arguing in his soul with the facts presented in the textbook and is surprised by his own discoveries, that he considers himself an advanced student and is proud of it. The conversation between parent and child becomes exciting and eye-opening for both parties. She brings you closer and makes you happy. And most importantly, the child understands that his life is important and truly interesting to his parents..
