In our country, the attitude towards these specialists is quite ambiguous, and there are quite good reasons for this. These professions themselves came to us from abroad and gained popularity quite recently. In fact, such professions are not registered with us. Accordingly, anyone who has read a couple of articles on psychology in Forbes can speak on behalf of a coach or personal growth trainer. Why was this particular magazine taken as an example? The thing is that abroad the coaching system is already quite well developed and is most often used in the field of business/career advancement. This is a kind of personal consultant for quickly achieving goals. Despite the fact that people in this specialty are required to have a higher psychological education, their clients often do not have psychological and mental disorders/traumas/problems. In the vast majority of cases, people come to personal trainers with requests already established, self-sufficient, but a little at a dead end regarding further development. There are, of course, other types of coaching. Let's just say, for ordinary people and everyday purposes. But today we are talking about its most common type - business coaching. Since this type is the most widespread, the price tag for working with a coach is much higher than that of any other specialist in the field of psychology. This is not without reason - the coach guarantees quick results in a short period of time. A personal growth coach, in addition to a diploma in standard psychological education, must also have a coaching school and extensive experience behind him. By the way, in our country this is not certified in any way and is not regulated by anything (correct me if there are already changes). In order to put the word “coach” in your profile header, you don’t even need to have a higher education. Due to the newness of the coaching market and the lack of clear criteria for defining this profession, a huge number of incompetent people appear who call themselves trainers/mentors/coaches. Even those conducting ordinary trainings like “How to become feminine so that your man will be charged with your energy and earn millions?” may consider themselves a guru. So, be careful and don’t be led by trendy names. When choosing a mentor, pay attention to education, courses, experience, and then rave reviews. What do you think about these new professions?
